Swell Summary 🌊 San Diego starts the week mellow with knee-thigh high WNW surf that favors big boards and clean morning sessions around the mid-AM tide. The highlight arrives late week as a strong W/WNW swell is increasingly likely to pump from Friday into Saturday, potentially delivering some of the biggest surf of the holiday stretch despite variable winds. Overall, expect small, friendly waves early, then a dramatic jump in size heading into Christmas week’s end. Santa decided to deliver the goods 🎅

Best Bet ✅ Friday morning (12/26) — a pumping W/WNW swell for winter magnets and open beach breaks if winds cooperate.

Worst Bet ❌ Early week afternoons — tiny knee-high surf with deeper tides and lumpier onshore texture make it best suited only for longboards or beginners.
