North County Report 🌊

Report powered by Surfline Premium. Spot Check: Swamis
Best Bet ✅ Tuesday morning cleanup in between storms offers a good looking window of fun surf and light offshores.
Worst Bet ❌ Being tempted to surf the big wave days when the wind is howling. This isn’t a windsurfing report!
South County Report 🌊

Report powered by Surfline Premium. Spot Check: Blacks
Best Bet ✅ Find some waves with structure this week whether that be a reef or a point break.
Worst Bet ❌ Trying to surf a beach break. You want to get body slammed? 🤼♂️
Wave Recommendations 🎯
Sticking to point/reef breaks this week for more protection from the wind.
Sunset Cliffs - early morning low tides this week favor this break
Tides & Sunrise/Sunset 🌅
Mind the low tide at dawn patrol 🪫 Wave size should fill in shortly after.

What’s Happening at the Beach?! 🏖️
La Jolla Surf: Culture, Art, Craft 🏄♂️ New exhibit running Feb 8th-May 25th @ La Jolla Historical Society
Did you Know? 🌎️
The earliest recorded surfers in San Diego were likely indigenous Kumeyaay people who lived along the coast for thousands of years. However, modern surfing in San Diego began in the early 1900s, with Hawaiian surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku popularizing the sport in the area.
By the 1910s and 1920s, early surfers like Louis and Charlie Chase were seen riding the waves at places like Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach, using massive wooden surfboards that weighed over 100 pounds!
Surf Footage of the Week 📹️
Some fun ripping at Swamis! I would surf here more if it weren’t for the crowds 🫠
