San Diego Surf Forecast 🌡️

Welcome to this week’s edition of The Sunday Stoke! Where one extra wave is only a paddle stroke away.

Swell Summary 🌊 Happy Autumn Solstice 🍁 

Unfortunately, the start of Autumn surf stays small with leftover SSW/S energy mixing with a little NW swell. Expect mostly micro-peaks in the knee-high zone, best on the clean AM tide push with light winds before manageable onshores ruffle the afternoon. May be a good week to checkout a SUP spot. 

Long-range models hint at possible tropical swell by the end of the month, but confidence is uncertain right now.

North County Report 🌊 

Best Bet ✅ Still a ways out but keep your eyes peeled, for fun, punch surf next Sunday!

Worst Bet ❌ Midday and afternoon sessions will be weak and ruffled with little payoff, especially for shortboarders.

South County Report 🌊 

Best Bet ✅ Early mornings on Monday, Sept 22, bring the cleanest tide push and manageable winds for small-wave fun.

Worst Bet ❌ Getting overly excited for good surf when it’s not producing. But hey, the water is still warm…take a swim!

1. Trestles OVERALL - Still the place to be but that will shift quickly as S swells die down.

2. Oceanside Harbor NORTH COUNTY

3. Blacks SOUTH COUNTY - Continuing to the Southern swell magnet

Try hitting the morning sessions to catch the incoming tide this week.

Wind Radar 🌬️ 

Expect to see some cleaner conditions in the morning than the ruffle experienced the last few days.

Weather Outlook ⛅️ 

Slightly cooling temps compared to the last couple of weeks. A mix of sun + clouds.

Water Temperature 🌡️ 70°F 😅 

Water temps are also cooling down. 70 is still nice but you may want to start thinking about a little extra rubber soon. Check our San Diego wetsuit guide.
